ISLAMABAD: An accountability court ordered on Tuesday to auction movable and immovable assets of former finance minister Ishaq Dar’s and to seize his bank accounts.
Earlier, National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) had filed a petition requesting the permission for the auction of Dar’s assets.
A day earlier, the accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir had reserved his verdict on the plea and today the court allowed to auction Dar’s assets.
Announcing the verdict, the court handed the Punjab government the authority to seize Dar’s assets and bank accounts and auctioned them.
The court had been summoning Dar since the case has started but Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader went to London for medical treatment and continues to abscond in corruption cases against him in the accountability court.

Afterward, NAB had filed the petition for the auction of Ishaq Dar’s assets.
Last week, NAB had submitted details of PML-N leader’s assets that have been seized by the accountability court.
A special prosecutor of NAB, Imran Shafiq, apprised that Dar owns three flats in Dubai, a house in Lahore’s Gulberg, four plots in Islamabad and one luxury car.
According to NAB report, Dar is a shareholder in three companies based in Dubai, while his wife owns six cars in Pakistan.

Dar and his wife have also invested Rs3,453,000 in Hajveri Holdings Pvt Limited, it added.
In the case against the former finance minister, he is accused of possessing assets disproportionate to his declared sources of income.
A reference against the former finance minister was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in light of the Supreme Court’s July 28 verdict in the Panama Papers case.
