GUJRANWALA: FIA on Tuesday arrested three human traffickers from Hafizabad, Gujrat and Gujranwala. It was stated that accused Ehtisham Khalid Butt, Maqsood Ahmed and Abdul Sattar were involved in sending people abroad and there were cases registered against them in FIA.
Robbers on the prowl: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in 25 robbery hits here on Tuesday. In Saddar Wazirabad police station limit bandits snatched Rs 32 thousand and two cell phones from Malik Abdullah, at Wahndo dacoits took away Rs 67 thousand, gold ornaments and cell phones from Nafees and his family, in Baghbanpura area swindlers deprived a woman from gold ornaments, cash and cell phones, in Ladhewala Warriach robbers looted Rs 25 thousand, two cell phones and gold ornaments from Akhlaq, at Sohdra armed men snatched Rs 75 thousand, gold chain and two cell phones from Asim, three armed men entered in the house of Ejaz and decamped with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables, in city Wazirabad area dacoits looted Rs 26 thousand, gold ornaments and a cell phone from a woman, in Ladhewala area Bashir was deprived of a gold ring, Rs 17 thousand and cell phones at gun point, in Garjakh area bandits snatched Rs 42 thousand, two cell phone and gold chain from Faisal, in Qilla Didar Singh dacoits took away Rs 40 thousand, cell phones, a gold ring and a lap top from Fareed, in Sadar Kamoki area armed men snatched Rs 50 thousands, two cell phones, a motorcycle from Ghulam Ghaus, at Emanabad Nabi Ahmed was deprived of Rs 57 thousand, gold ornaments and cell phones on gun point, in Saddar Gujranwala police station limits bandits snatched Rs 30 thousand and a cell phone from Ahmad Raza, at Ahmed Nagar armed men looted Rs 40 thousand, three cell phones and gold ornaments from Ahsan Chatha, in Wahndo robbers snatched Rs 27 thousand, car and a cell phones from Iftikhar, at Ladhewala Asif was deprived of Rs 9 thousand, motorcycle and cell phones, in Saddar Wazirabad area dacoits took away Rs 25 thousand and two cell phones from Shafi, at Gakhar bandits snatched Rs 32 thousand, gold ornaments and cell phones from Moazzam, in Satellite town police station limit robbers looted Rs 11 thousand, two cell phones and a motorcycle from Fareed. In theft incidents unknown thieves took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the houses of Waseem, Naseem and Hamza while applied for motorcycle of Haris was stolen from Kotwali area.
Floods: The district administration has conducted a mock exercise to check the preparedness of concerned departments to meet the situation in result of any misshape like the oil tanker incident at Bahawalpur, rescue 1122, motorway police, Punjab police, civil defense and other departments participated in the exercise. The aim of the exercise was to educate and train the emergency staff to achieve a high level of efficiency. On the occasion personnel of all the concerned departments gave a presentation to control the situation and also provided first aid and shifted the injured persons to hospitals.
