LAHORE: Following the suicide attack near
the census team vehicle at Bedian Road, Defence on Wednesday,
the city police once again have beefed up security arrangements across the provincial capital on Thursday.
City police also finalised security arrangements and deputed more officials, including Dolphin Force, PRU, Mujahid Force and other law enforces, to avoid any untoward incident across city. A massive search operation, in various areas, was also launched to hunt the terror suspects.

s have deputed snipers on rooftops of buildings located adjacent to important public places such as religious places, government installations, buildings and offices in
the city.
However, source
s have also confirmed that intelligence agencies once again forwarded its reports to
the concerned authorities, in which they expressed fear about more attacks and information about the assets of terrorists in
the city.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier, before any act of terrorism, the intelligence agencies had submitted their reports to the authorities concerned about fear of terrorist in
the city.
On Wednesday, a suicide bomber attacked the army men and census team vehicle at Bedian Road. Seven people, including five army men and two civilian died while several were injured.
According to the DIG Operations spokesperson, city police has arrested more than 100 suspects during search and combing operation during the last 24 hours across
the city and it would continue on daily basis. He said that the police has beefed up security arrangements at all important places in the metropolis, especially police contingents. He added that more police officials deputed in different areas of
the city. However, SP and DSP will personally check the police performance round
the clock daily basis.
Talking to Daily Times, a senior police officer said that a high profile meeting of senior police officers was held to chalk out a ‘foolproof’ security plan to maintain law and order in
the city. He said that police high-up
s have passed on strict directions to police officials to ensure patrolling in their respective
areas. “Upon receiving directions, all police officers concerned passed on strict orders to all station house officers (SHOs) to ensure the implementation of the security plan and stand guard at important religious places, markets, bazaars and other public places within their respective areas,” he added.
DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said that city police have ado
pted an extraordinary security plan for all important places and especially churches, due to increased religious activities as Christian community would celebrate their annual religious festival ‘Easter’ in coming days. He added that police also beefed up the security at all other religious places and other important places of
the city especially exits and entry in
the city where patrolling and police pickets also beefed up.
